Ever wondered what being trapped in a 80's/90's mall would feel like? You probably haven't, but this mallsoft gem by Disconscious will perfectly encapsulate that feeling. Mallsoft is another branch from vaporwave, but this time, the songs are created to bring back the old muzak sounds of shopping malls/plazas/waiting rooms. Filled with the sounds of haunting nostalgia, Hologram Plaza takes you on a trip back in time where the mall was THE place to be. All of the song titles perfectly describe a long trip to the mall actually. You can just imagine all of the neon lights, bright colored clothing, and and bitter people from the days of yore. So like most albums of the vaporwave family, all songs consist of sample manipulation. Everything from Italian movie soundtracks (Mattress Store) to a song that appeared in a Tim and Eric sketch (Shopping Delirium) get "chilled out" and put under a lot of reverb and tape hiss effects. Nothing on the album is pretty loud, so it can even be listened to while sleeping. I personally use 2 songs from here as background music to sleep to every now and then. Its also a good album to listen to while working on homework or other similar shit. The album sorta sounds like the music old weather channels would play too. So yeah, this one's a little short but sweet. Enjoy ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
